For many homeowners, a real estate appraisal is the key to buying or selling their home. It allows the property transactions to occur among the buyer, seller, real estate agent and the mortgage lender. To facilitate the residential appraisal process, it's beneficial to have these documents ready for the appraiser:
- Information relating to the more recent sales history of the property (e.g. has the property sold in the recent past, is it currently listed, etc.)
- List of chattels (e.g. personal property such as appliances, etc.) that are to be included in the sale of the home
- A list of the more recent improvements and upgrades (e.g. date of installation and cost) completed
